In your initial consultation I will discuss with you the practicalities of our work together but it may be helpful for you to have a look at the details below.
Sessions -In our initial consultation we will discuss a way of working together and how regularly this might be.
Fees- There will be a fee for the initial consultation, agreed in advance. The ongoing fee per session will be agreed between us in the initial consultation.
Payment of Fees-Payment is to be made at the end of each session.
Confidentiality-The work we do together is confidential. However, as part of my practice I have a responsibility to discuss clients regularly with a supervisor (an experienced psychotherapist), who also has to maintain confidentiality. I would not disclose information about you to a third party without your agreement, except in situations where there was significant concern about harm to you or someone else and this would normally be discussed with you beforehand.
Communication policy between sessions-If you need to get a message to me in between the sessions you can contact me by email, text or voicemail. I may not be able to get back to you immediately but will do my best to do so within one working day. In an emergency you should contact your GP. I would ask that communication is to be limited to issues about practicalities of the sessions and that anything more substantive may be discussed face to face. Please note that I do not use an email encryption programme and therefore any emails between us may not be confidential and may be vulnerable to viruses or human error.
Ending the therapy-You can end our work together at any point. In certain circumstances I may need to end our work and as far as possible will discuss this with you and will think with you as far as possible about whether I can refer you to other services.
